The Rodeo-Round One

Last night we went to the rodeo cook off.  It is always a good time.  It is packed with people and there are tents everywhere.  There are probably 200 tents.  They all have food and drinks and several of them have bands or D.J's.  There is also a fair set up with tons of rides, food and games.  I want to do that stuff tonight!  The parking always fills up and it takes forever to get a cab so we took the light rail.  Most people are decked out in their western wear.  I even went out and bought a couple of plaid shirts.

On the light rail.

There are little streets set up in a huge parking lot and each street is lined with tents.

This tent had a great band.

Visit to Phoenix

Drew and I went to Phoenix for a long weekend.  Drew's parents were in town too so it was fun.  It went by so fast-too fast! We got in late Thursday night.  On Friday we went to lunch with my friend Beth.  It was great to see her and her adorable baby!  I am so bummed I didn't get a picture of them.  Anyway, that night my dad got Drew and I great tickets to the Suns game.  It was perfect because they played the Oklahoma City Thunder.  We sat a few rows back from the floor and had passes to the Toyota Center where we got free food and drinks.  It was awesome!  Thanks again Dad.  On Saturday I made the rounds to see a coupe of friends and their adorable babies and then my family, Drew, Paula, Bob and I all went out to dinner.   Sunday my parents had everyone over for a brunch.  The food was amazing as always.  Then Drew and I headed to the airport where I cried like I do every time I have to leave my family.  Here are pictures from the weekend.

Out with friends from high school.  Drew decide not to come out with nine girls.

Sunday brunch.  Just a few of the people who were there.  From left to right: my mom, sister, sister, grandma, aunt and me.

The weather was perfect so we all enjoyed sitting outside.  From left to right: my other grandma, Drew's mom, Drew, Drew's dad, my dad, my grandma's brother.

Drew with his dog Buster (who lives my parents).  As you can see Buster wouldn't pose for a picture and he's too big to hold down.  He weighs over a hundred pounds!

Valentine's Day

Drew and I had a great Valentine's Day!  I just love my husband so much!!!  He is the best.  He is smart, funny, handsome, hard working and he is my best friend.  We are a perfect match and I couldn't ask for anything more.  I feel so blessed to have him.  Anyway, back to Valentine's day.  We went to brunch with our friends Kurt and Corrie.  It was an adorable restaurant that is in a little old house.  We were kind of lazy the rest of the day and then I made dinner.  We even broke out the china, silver and crystal from our wedding that we still hadn't used.  I was very excited about that (which explains why I have pictures of it on my blog).  We had a great time just staying in and enjoying each others company.

Me cooking.

We ended up moving the place settings closer because Drew insisted they were too far apart.

For dinner I made blue cheese crusted fillet Mignon, twice baked potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce.  It was delicious!

I also made creme brulee for dessert.

A Night Out On The Town

Drew had a few friends in town from Oklahoma City so we all went out last night.  We started the night at a friends house and then went to a bar.  It was rainy  and gross out but we still had fun.  Here are a few pictures.

This is the beginning of the night.  From left to right the people are: Michael, Sarah, Sean, Steven (visiting from OK) and Greg (also visiting from OK).  I love how the crown is right over Greg's head; we didn't even plan that.

This is at the bar.  Michael, Nathan and Jill

I think this picture is so funny.  I imagine Drew is thinking, "life is good." Chris and I are wondering why he is doing that for the picture???  Well, you can't say my husband is not funny.

Austin

Last weekend I went to Austin to visit my cousin Chris and my aunt Laura. Chris lives in Austin and is a graduate assistant for the University of Texas' basketball team. My aunt Laura was in town visiting him from Minnesota so I decided to drive down. We had a blast! We went to so many amazing restaurants and we got to go to one of Chris' basketball games. For those of you who don't know Drew is a huge Oklahoma fan and OU and TX are huge rivals. My aunt suggested that I wear a TX shirt and I was like "oh, I don't know if Drew what like that." I did it though (only to support my cousin). I even cheered for TX but refused to put up horns like the true fans do. Then, the game got really close and I couldn't resist..... I was doing the chants and holding my horns up high. Don't worry Drew, after the game I went back to putting my horns upside down (that is what the OU fans do). Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Here we are at lunch. From left to right the people are: my cousin Chris, his friend, me, Laura

Lance Armstrong was sitting 6 rows in front of us on the court! I was very excited about this. Chris got us great seats as you can see.

This is after the game. Notice my horns are down like a true OU fan (minus the TX shirt)!

Here I am in the TX locker room with my horns down. Any TX would be so mad I'm sure.

Game Night

Last night Drew and I hosted  a game night.  It was so much fun! Seven of our closest friends were there for lots of food and a game of pictionary and then Charades.  My team won in pictionary but I was terrible at charades and we lost.  For charades each team wrote down 20 movies and put then in a hat.  We had fun acting out and trying to guess.  Some of them were pretty funny like Winni the Pooh.  Someone had to pretend they were going poo haha!  Anyway, here are a few pictures.

turkey pin wheels, pizza squares, Alfredo spinach dip and Chinese meatballs YUM!!!  I was busy cooking all day but it was worth it because everyone loved to food.  It was just about all gone by the end of the night.

Here are our best friends in Houston.  We were just missing Sean.

Up first......Drew Allen
