Utah Girls Trip

Last weekend I went to visit Karaden, one of my best friends in Utah.  My two sisters and our other best friend Christina all went for a girls trip.  We had a blast!  It was fun to get a glimpse of what Karaden's life is like.  We went to Karaden's in-laws cabin one night and spent about four hours in the hot tub chatting.  We also went to Park City one day for lunch and a little shopping.  Actually, everyday we were there we went shopping.  I really had to restrain myself! Anyway, the best part of the trip was getting together with the girls again.  We all grew up on the same street and were inseparable when we were younger.  I love them all and I can't wait for the next girls weekend in Houston!
This is at Karaden's in-laws cabin.

Here we are in the car driving to Park City.

This is in front of Karaden's House.

Here is her family room.  Her house is adorable!  Every inch is decorated.

This is her kitchen.  It is decorated with desserts.  Isn't that cute!

Here I am with my sisters on one of our shopping sprees.  I miss them!

Oklahoma City Girls Weekend

We had a girls weekend in Oklahoma City.  The party consisted of Drew's sisters Louise and Patricia, Maggie our sister-in-law, Drew's mom Paula,  Maggie's brother's fiance and me.  We had a little pajama party on Friday night at Maggie and Robby's new house.  We had such a great time!  The only bad part was that we were missing Lynn (our sister-in-law).  She was missed but at least we got to i chat with her.
Here we are at Maggie and Robby's new house.

This is towards the end of the night.

Little Robby III.  He is adorable!

Hurricane Ike

Here are a few pictures that I took 5 days after the hurricane.  The debris is pushed off to the side of the roads so that you can drive.  My school finally got power on Thursday so we had 10 days off.  We will most likely have to make the days up though.

Hurricane Ike

We survived the hurricane. I already had a trip planned to Oklahoma City. I left Thursday night so I missed all of the action. Drew stayed at his friends loft. It is a converted warehouse so there aren't any windows on the first or second floor. They said it was crazy! The wind was unbelievable. Drew went and drove around downtown the next day and he said it was like a ghost town. There was crap everywhere, windows were broken and stoplights had blown over. Millions of people are still without water or power but luckily, our apartment has both. All of our friends are staying there. The grocery store opened today so they were able to restock on food and water (and I am sure beer).

I am still in Oklahoma City. I was supposed to leave today but the Houston airport is closed until Tuesday. School has so far been cancelled Monday and Tuesday and Drew does not have to go to work tomorrow. Thank you to all of you who kept us in your prayers and sent thoughtful emails or gave us a call.

Maroon 5 and Counting Crows Concert

Last night we went to the Maroon 5 and Counting Crows concert.  It was really fun! We took a party bus there with a group of friends.  Both bands awesome.  I especially liked Maroon 5!!!

Here we are on the bus.  These are our best friends in Houston.  From left to right the people are: David, Nathan, Sean, Michael and Drew.
We got there a little bit late so we had to sit on the very back of the lawn.
This is on the way home from the concert in the party bus.

My Cute Class

Here are some pictures of my class playing at recess. They are really sweet kids (most of the time) and as you can see.....very cute! There are 19 four year olds in my class. It is a really fun age and I truly enjoy spending my days with them. They wear me out though.

In pre-k we teach them how to write all of their upper and lower case letters. We also teach them the sounds that each letter makes and get them ready for reading. By the end of the year, they can read and write short words! We also teach them numbers and counting, how to make patterns, estimation and all sorts of things. They are at school from 8-3 which is a long day for them but we do have nap for about 45 min.(thank goodness). I always say that I have the only job where I go to work and people are so excited to see me that they run up and give me hugs! It is very rewarding.
