The Great Gatsby Gala

On Saturday I attended my school auction. The theme was the Great Gatsby Gala and it was very glamorous! Many of the men were in tuxedos and the women were either in beautiful long fitted gowns with long pearls and boas, flapper attire or cocktail dresses. I was boring and just wore a cocktail dress but as you can see from the pictures, the other young teachers wore flapper dresses. There was a silent auction, live auction and gambling tables set up. It was very fun! I went with a group of teacher and none of our boyfriends/husbands came. We stayed at the auction until almost eleven and then went out. Lets just say the flapper dresses were quite a hit at the bars! Drew and our friends came and met us out and we all had a very fun night!

The group of teachers that I went with.

No, we teachers weren't taking shots. We were just posing with them for a picture.

The decorations were very pretty!

The Second Annual BOOze Ball

Drew and I were two of nine hosts of the second annual BOOze Ball. We have the party at our friends' loft. The party has tons of decorations, a fog machine, and lots of things to drink! My two sisters came in town and we had a blast except I was very sad to see them go! Drew and I dressed up as Hannah Montana and Billy Ray Cyrus, Courtney was Marilyn Monroe and Kyle was a ballerina.

Hannah and Billy Ray. Whenever Drew was looking for me he would say, "Where's my little money maker?"

Meet the hosts: Colonel Sanders (KFC), eighties rocker, Billy Ray, flapper, gangster, security guard, Hulk Hogan, Hannah Montana, Kanye West and Taylor Swift.

New House

We moved into our house about almost four weeks ago and we couldn't be happier! We have been busy unpacking, painting, plating flowers and doing other little projects. My mom came in town the day after we were supposed to close but our close date got pushed back. We had planned on working on the house all week when she was here but ended up doing lots of eating, drinking and we had a Mad Men marathon. She did buy us a buffet that we painted together which was very fun! Drew's parents came in town the weekend after we closed. They helped us paint and Drew's mom textured the walls. Drew has become quite the little handy man around here and I must say he has impressed me yet again! I truly have the most wonderful husband in the world! Anyway, here a few pictures of the house. Some are small but if you click on them they get larger.

Sorry, this picture is a little bit dark.

Here is the buffet my mom bought us.

Sorry mom but I had to put this picture on! When we bought the buffet my friend Corrie came with us so we could drive it home in her husband's truck. We were afraid it would tip over so my mom insisted she sit in back and hold it. She looked so funny driving in the back of a truck through Houston. She even made friends with a guy at a stoplight! I was just driving behind laughing so hard! Thanks for the buffet and the laugh mom!

We are Homeowners!

Well, yesterday we wrapped things up on this house.  We will be moving in on September 15th!  Drew and I are so excited!  The house is in a great area and is on a very pretty street.  It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  The kitchen has been redone with beautiful granite counter tops and  it also has nice built-ins in the living room.  There are a few things we want to do to the house like paint it inside and out, plant flowers and shrubs, put new wall paper in the bathrooms and a few other small things.  We are looking forward to starting the projects!  I will post more pictures after we move in but in the meantime here are a few.

Here's our new house!

Bad picture but here's the street.

Another picture of the street.

And here's the last one for now.

Happy 27th Birthday Drew!

Last night we had a bowling party for Drew's birthday.  It was at a new bowling alley that is set up a little more like a bar where you even have a waitress.  Everyone had a blast!  We enjoyed champagne, beer, cocktails and of course birthday cake!  We bowled from 7-9 and then went out from there.  I love you so much Drew and I hope you have had a great birthday!  I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays to come!  You are truly the best husband and best friend a girl could ask for!  Now, here are the pics.

Group shot.

Strike!

Here we are with the cake I made for Drew.

I hope he made a good wish and I hope it comes true!

Coronado 09

I have returned from my two week vacation in Coronado.  It was so nice and relaxing!  The best part was getting to spend lots of time with family!  Not only was my family there but Drew, his parents and his sister came for a long weekend.  I must say it was pretty rough with all of the nice days on the beach, long walks, tennis and lots of great food and drinks!  Thanks for everything Mom and Dad!  There are lots of pictures below.

4th of July

On the 4th we went to the lake all day with one of our friends who has a boat.  For most of the day it was just me, Drew, Sean, Nathan and Elliott.  We all attempted wake surfing.  I was not very good!  We didn't get home from the lake until close to 9:00 and the fireworks began at 9:30.  We got ready really fast at the guys place who live down town.  We were able to watch the fireworks from their street.  Drew, Sean, Nathan and I all enjoyed the great show that Houston put on.  We went out for a little bit after the show.  It was a very fun day!  God bless America!!!
