Baby Allen

Drew and I went to the Dr. for my 13-week checkup. The purpose of the appointment was to test for Down Syndrome, which is a routine test. I got to do an ultrasound and the baby looked so big and cute! It actually looked like a baby and it was moving its arms and legs around like crazy. It was so great that it made me tear up because I was just so happy! We won't get those results back until Monday or Tuesday but the Dr. said everything looks good. I have had a really easy pregnancy so far and I'm hoping it stays that way! I have gained five pounds and I am already getting a little bump. There is a picture of my belly below. Pictures of the ultrasound will hopefully be up soon when we figure out how to scan them onto the computer.

Christmas 2009

I am a bit behind on my blogging but here are some Christmas photos. Drew and I were in Phoenix for Christmas and it was wonderful! I just love all of the traditions that go along with Christmas. The cookie decorating, Christmas Eve mass, Christmas Eve dinner at Gramma Stiak's house, singing happy birthday to baby Jesus on Christmas morning (yes, my mom still makes us do that before we open presents), Christmas dinner with all of the family just to name a few. Anyway here are the pictures.
Our Christmas tree in Houston.

My mom the expert cookie decorator.

The judges of the cookie decorating. We take our cookie decorating very seriously!

Santa!!!!!

We went to Flagstaff to go sledding and it was beautiful but freezing! It snowed the whole time. Sledding was fun and I couldn't believe that even my mom went down the hill a few times.

Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow

It snowed today in Houston! It was beautiful. It didn't stick a whole lot but it was really coming down! I took my kids outside to run and play in it and they loved it! It was fun to watch their excited little face as they opened their mouths and tried to catch snow! Our school let out early and just in time for carpool (where the teachers have to stand outside for 30 min. and load kids in cars) it really started to snow. It was freezing but fun. One of the moms who drove through even brought enough hot chocolates from Starbucks for all of the teachers who were outside! It was the perfect treat!

Bingo

So last night Drew and I went to play bingo with a group of friends. That's right, bingo. It was surprisingly a lot of fun! It was at a hall that just looks like a place where old people would play bingo but there were lots of young people there. They have cheap beer and food and it only costs $5 for about two hours of fun! The place was packed; there were probably 500 people there. We will be back next Thursday for sure! I hope you get a good laugh when you look at these pictures.....I know I did!

Bingo!

Drew and Sean. Sean was the only one we were with that won.

Just look at this place.

Everyone was pretending they won.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving weekend was very nice with Drew's family. On Thanksgiving we went to a hotel for lunch and then went to a movie. We saw The Blind Side and it was awesome! Later that night some family came over to the Allen's and that was fun! Friday night was Drew's grandmother's 90th birthday party. Paula had it catered, Louise brought a photo booth and everyone gave toasts to Pat. After the party everyone went out. The best part of the night was when Louise put on a performance to a Michael Jackson song. She even did the splits at one point.....priceless! Anyway, here are some pictures.

The Great Gatsby Gala

On Saturday I attended my school auction. The theme was the Great Gatsby Gala and it was very glamorous! Many of the men were in tuxedos and the women were either in beautiful long fitted gowns with long pearls and boas, flapper attire or cocktail dresses. I was boring and just wore a cocktail dress but as you can see from the pictures, the other young teachers wore flapper dresses. There was a silent auction, live auction and gambling tables set up. It was very fun! I went with a group of teacher and none of our boyfriends/husbands came. We stayed at the auction until almost eleven and then went out. Lets just say the flapper dresses were quite a hit at the bars! Drew and our friends came and met us out and we all had a very fun night!

The group of teachers that I went with.

No, we teachers weren't taking shots. We were just posing with them for a picture.

The decorations were very pretty!

The Second Annual BOOze Ball

Drew and I were two of nine hosts of the second annual BOOze Ball. We have the party at our friends' loft. The party has tons of decorations, a fog machine, and lots of things to drink! My two sisters came in town and we had a blast except I was very sad to see them go! Drew and I dressed up as Hannah Montana and Billy Ray Cyrus, Courtney was Marilyn Monroe and Kyle was a ballerina.

Hannah and Billy Ray. Whenever Drew was looking for me he would say, "Where's my little money maker?"

Meet the hosts: Colonel Sanders (KFC), eighties rocker, Billy Ray, flapper, gangster, security guard, Hulk Hogan, Hannah Montana, Kanye West and Taylor Swift.
