My Weekend

Drew went to Las Vegas last weekend for a bachelor party.  It was the very end of my spring break and I had Friday, Saturday and Sunday all to myself.  I planned on doing nothing just relaxing so that I would be ready to go back to all 19 kids.  Although I did rent four girly movies (and watched them all) I got tons of stuff done around the apartment.  I put all of our Chicago pictures in a scrap book.  I have made all three of our close guy friends scrap books for their birthdays because they always love to look at ours.  I finished the last one of those.  I painted new towel bars for the bathroom and bought his and hers letters. I also hung them by myself and even Drew said they are nice and sturdy.  I must admit, I was pretty proud of myself when he said that.  I did all of the laundry, got all of the ironing done, cleaned, and reorganized my cookbook (which took forever).  I put everything in a new binder and put every recipe in a plastic sleeve so they wouldn't get stained like some already have.  I was very productive!

I had mentioned in a previous blog that I got a sewing machine for Christmas from Drew.  I posted some pictures of my latest project.....pillows!  I also put some pictures of my Easter decorations.  If you can't tell by now, i decorate for every holiday.  I just can't help myself.  I guess it's because my mom did that and it always got me in the holiday spirit! Anyway, enough rambling, here are the pictures.....

Bathroom

It's kind of hard to see but the framed pictures have vintage Easter prints in them.  I ordered prints for every holiday so I can change them out.  I know, it's a little over the top but I love them!

Just a few of the many Easter decorations.

Pillows that I sewed.

More of the scrap book.  Not sure why this picture is sideways but I couldn't figure out how to fix it- Oh well.

Chicago

Drew and I went to Chicago to celebrate our two year anniversary. We had the best time and it was so nice to spend 5 days with my wonderful husband! It was kind of cold but we brought tons of warm clothes so we were fine. We did all of the touristy stuff when we were there. We went to the top of the Sears Tower, ate deep dish pizza, went to a show, did a bus top tour, went to the aquarium, walked the magnificent mile, went to Millennium Park, went to Navy Pier and other things. We were there for the St. Patrick's day parade and the dying of the river. It was crazy.....people everywhere all decked out in green. There are tons of pictures below.

The Sears Tower. I am not going to lie, I was a little scared at the top!

Navy Pier. We rode the Ferris wheel.

At Gino's eating the best pizza. Yum!!!

Out with our friend Owen who lives in Chicago.

This little boy was at the St. Patrick's day parade. Look at his sign. The part that is cut off says (girls only). Too cute! I am sure he made a fortune.

Notice the green river behind us. It was very bright! They use orange dye to make it that color.

We ate lunch at the Ralph Lauren store and it was awesome! The restaurant is small but beautiful and they had delicious food!

Here we are at Jersey Boys. The show was awesome! Drew and I both loved it!

Ice Skating. Drew was not very good. He had to stay by the railing haha. Finally, one thing that I am better at.

Me pretending that I am good. There is no way I would try that on the ice.

We went to eat at this French restaurant called Bistro 110. The food was unbelievable! If you are ever in Chicago you have to go.

Lake Michigan. You can't see it in this picture but there was ice in the lake. Just looking at it made us cold.

Drew with the shark at the aquarium. We were bummed because the part with the whales, dolphins and seals (all of the good stuff) was closed for remodeling.

At Pizzeria Uno. The pizza was great but not quite as good as Gino's. The restaurant is adorable though!

Redneck Party

Yesterday we went to David's birthday party.  It was at this hole in the wall place where they only serve beers and the beers are kept in coolers.  It is mostly outside and they have a grill that you can use if you bring your own food.  The theme was redneck and the venue was perfect for that.  It was hilarious!  Lots of mullets, cut off shirts and jorts (boys jean shorts).  Drew was cracking me up all day because he stayed in character; my stomach was killing me by the end of the night.  My favorite line of his was,"Man did you see Dale on TV yesterday?  Man, that guy can drive."  He also talked about his RV and he threatened people by saying, "you know what I got here in my back pocket?  It's a big can of whoop a$$ and I will open it on you."  Anyway, get ready to laugh at these pictures.

Willard (Drew) and Me

Here's Sean on the grill.  Oh my gosh I am laughing right now just looking at his outfit.

This was a house across the street from the place we were.  They said this was going to be their "album cover" (hahaha).

Me and Jill.  Notice the tattoo on my arm.  I also had one on my ankle.  Classy!

Sean, Drew, Greg and Nathan.  Look how dumb Sean and Drew look!

Tina, Me, Alexis and Jill.

Don't we have attractive friends?

Nathan (or as Drew called him, "Pits" because you can always see and smell his pits), Dale and Drew

Classy ladies.

Here they are confused by the sign.  Drew said, "stop here? then what?"

By the end of the night they burned Dale!

The Rodeo-Round One

Last night we went to the rodeo cook off.  It is always a good time.  It is packed with people and there are tents everywhere.  There are probably 200 tents.  They all have food and drinks and several of them have bands or D.J's.  There is also a fair set up with tons of rides, food and games.  I want to do that stuff tonight!  The parking always fills up and it takes forever to get a cab so we took the light rail.  Most people are decked out in their western wear.  I even went out and bought a couple of plaid shirts.

On the light rail.

There are little streets set up in a huge parking lot and each street is lined with tents.

This tent had a great band.

Visit to Phoenix

Drew and I went to Phoenix for a long weekend.  Drew's parents were in town too so it was fun.  It went by so fast-too fast! We got in late Thursday night.  On Friday we went to lunch with my friend Beth.  It was great to see her and her adorable baby!  I am so bummed I didn't get a picture of them.  Anyway, that night my dad got Drew and I great tickets to the Suns game.  It was perfect because they played the Oklahoma City Thunder.  We sat a few rows back from the floor and had passes to the Toyota Center where we got free food and drinks.  It was awesome!  Thanks again Dad.  On Saturday I made the rounds to see a coupe of friends and their adorable babies and then my family, Drew, Paula, Bob and I all went out to dinner.   Sunday my parents had everyone over for a brunch.  The food was amazing as always.  Then Drew and I headed to the airport where I cried like I do every time I have to leave my family.  Here are pictures from the weekend.

Get Nashty!!!  I love Steve Nash!

Drew in the Toyota Center.

Me in the Toyota Center.  Don't we look very VIP with our passes around our necks!

Out with friends from high school.  Drew decide not to come out with nine girls.

One more group photo.

Two of my best friends in high school.

Baby Katelyn. Too cute!

Sunday brunch.  Just a few of the people who were there.  From left to right: my mom, sister, sister, grandma, aunt and me.

The weather was perfect so we all enjoyed sitting outside.  From left to right: my other grandma, Drew's mom, Drew, Drew's dad, my dad, my grandma's brother.

Drew with his dog Buster (who lives my parents).  As you can see Buster wouldn't pose for a picture and he's too big to hold down.  He weighs over a hundred pounds!

Drew and I soaking up the beautiful AZ weather.
